Hurricane

Please take a moment to review these tips for staying safe and protecting your home during Hurricanes.

Hurricane season is generally from June 1 through November 30.  To ensure you are prepared for any hurricane-related weather, please review the below information.

To help ensure that you are prepared, here are some flood protocols to follow.

• Property manager will ensure that any damaged trees or branches are trimmed and/or removed.  Should you see any damaged trees or limbs, please contact us immediately so that this can be addressed prior to storms

• Gutters will be cleared of debris and secured to the building.  If you see any issues with gutters, siding, roof or other exterior, contact us immediately

• Anchor any heavy outdoor items

• Bring any lightweight outdoor items indoors prior to storms

• Cover exterior windows

• Know the emergency protocols for the area including evacuation map, evacuation designated shelter, evacuation protocol.

• Follow all local evacuation instructions

• Take photographs of all personal items to make things easier should you need to file a claim with your renter's insurance

• Make an emergency supply kit including water, food, a battery operated weather radio, a flashlight and spare batteries, a first-aid kit, a wrench or pliers, garbage bags, and moist towelettes

• Visit ready.gov for help preparing a family safety plan
